Benny Wade Schlehuber

Benny Schlehuber, 80, of Lubbock passed from this life on April 15,2024. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 20, 2024 in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel.

He was born June 8,1943 in Independence, Kansas to Wilbert Bud and Alice Virginia Fleming Schlehuber. Benny spent his younger years in Cherryvale, Kansas before his family moved to Post in 1958. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1964 and proudly served his country, being honorably discharged in 1966. After the military, he worked different jobs before beginning his long career in the oil and gas industry. He worked for USI Axelson, at which time he met his wife, Bonnie Lee Reed. They married on January 30, 1969 in Andrews while he was working for J and L Supply. In 1973 he began his career with Guiberson, which was bought out by Halliburton, until his retirement in 2009.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Alice Schlehuber.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his wife, Bonnie Schlehuber; sons, David and wife, Balinda Schlehuber and Robert and wife, Carrie Schlehuber; sister, Denise and husband, Phillip Dubois and grandchildren, Damon and wife, Marki Schlehuber, Abby Schlehuber and Paige Schlehuber.

In lieu of floral contributions the family request that donations be made to Interim Hospice.
