Billye Jean Johnson

Billye Jean Peacock Johnson, 86, passed from this life on September 9, 2025. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, September 12, 2025 in the City of Levelland Cemetery.

Billye Jean was born on June 10, 1939 to her parents, Tyra F. Peacock and Berthena Johnston in Kermit, Texas. She was the third of four children including, Duwane, Carlene, and Baby Joy.

She was married on March 24, 1961 in Levelland, Texas to L.D. (Butch) Johnson and together, they had two children, Kelly and Jody. She was a graduate of Levelland High School, and was in the first graduating class of South Plains College. She went on to become a professional legal assistant for all of her life.

Billye Jean is preceded in death by her parents and siblings.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her daughter, Kelly (Kim) and their children, Tammey (Mark), Luke (Nikki), Kasey (Joe), and Justin (Melissa); son, Jody (Tammy) and their children, Tiffany (Alan), Stephanie (Sean), and Katherine (Anthony). She is also survived by her 13 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

A life well lived. Today is a sad day for us but I assure you it is glorious for her.
