Carl Abney

Carl Michael ''Mike'' Abney, 74, of Levelland passed from this life on May 19, 2019. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at Krestridge Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 24, 2019, at Second Baptist Church.

He was born September 10, 1944 in Wellington, Texas to parents, Walter Earl ''Pete'' and Edna Abney. Mike moved to Wolfforth when he was 14 years old and graduated from Frenship High School in 1963.

Mike served our country in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967. He was a proud Veteran of the Vietnam War. He married Barbara on June 18, 1970. They were married 46 years when she passed away on March 19, 2016.

He worked for the City of Lubbock, Amoco-Oxy and Ignition Systems and Control.

Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; parents; sister, Mary; and son-in-law, Jim Cogdell.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Cogdell; son, Steven Kuhler; granddaughters, Lisa and husband Blake Massey, Brittany Cogdell, and Katelyn Cogdell; great grandchildren, Rance, Joshua, Brynley, Kyler and Kayson; brothers, Walter Abney, Dan Abney, and Terry Abney; sisters, Pat Williams and Carol Pruitt; and numerous nephews and nieces.
