Carla Brown

Carla Denise (Steward) Brown, 57, passed from this life on August 30, 2019. A Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 21, 2019, at Krestridge Funeral Home followed by a visitation reception until 4:00 pm.

She was born September 10, 1961 in San Angelo to Jim and Betty Steward. Carla graduated from Levelland High School before going on to obtain her bachelors degree from Texas Tech University and her masters from North Texas State University. She was a high school English teacher early in her career before becoming a high school librarian.

Carla enjoyed reading, cooking and fostering pets while reviewing applications for adoptions. She returned to Levelland a little over a year ago and was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Steward.

Carla is survived by her son, Ellis S. Brown of Bedford, Texas; and her father, Jim H. Steward of Levelland.

The family requests no flowers, but warmly suggests donations in Carla's memory to South Plains College School of Nursing; your local animal shelter; or your favorite charity.
