Catherine Louise Ellison

Catherine Louise Ellison ,81, of Levelland passed from this life on October 1, 2025. Visitation will take place on Sunday October 5, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Krestridge Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM in the Meadow Cemetery in Meadow, Texas.

Born in Dickens County, Texas to C.A. and Louise Clower Smith on July 2, 1944, Catherine grew up around Dickens, Spur, and Hereford, Texas. Catherine graduated high school from Hereford High and attended South Plains College where she met the love of her life, Jackie Howell Ellison. They wed on June 26, 1965, in Hereford. Catherine was a homemaker that filled many roles throughout her life. She was involved with local 4-H clubs, drove rural routes for USPS, and drove a Deaf-Education school bus for Levelland ISD. Through the many lives she lived, and many jobs worked, her favorite “job” was being “Grandma.”

Catherine is preceded in death by her parents, C.A. and Louise Smith; her sister, Sue Kirby-Lamm; her husband, Jackie Ellison; and her grandson, Cole Jeffcoat.

Those who are left to honor and cherish her memory include her children, Lee (Michelle) Ellison of Odessa, Texas, Margret Ann Jeffcoat of Levelland, Texas; her brother, Joe (Joan) Smith; and five grandchildren, ten great- grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and along with a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
