Darwin Albus

Darwin Paul Albus, 75, of Anton went to be with his Heavenly Father on May 19,2025.

Darwin was born in Amherst, Texas to Paul and Janette Kuehler Albus on September 14,1949. He loved growing up on the farm and riding horses. He graduated from Pep High School and attended South Plains College in Levelland to earn his machinist certificate. He worked as a machinist for a few years before beginning what he truly loved, driving trucks for several companies in the Brownfield area.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Janette Albus.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his daughter, Melissa (David) Garcia of Lubbock; grandchildren, Ashlee (Travis) Anzaldua of Refugio, Nathan Reeder of Lubbock and Kaylynn (Valentin) Vera of Midland; great-granddaughters, Havynn Marie Anzaldua and Isabelle Rose Vera; brothers, Curtis (Landra) Albus, Mark (Lisa) Albus; sisters, Betty (David) Merrick and Beverly (Craig) Vinson; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would like to thank High Plains Senior Care Hospice and Girling Heath Care of Lubbock. Also, a special thank you to Maria (Cecy) Rubio and his dear friend and “special angel” Charity Peralta for all the care, love and support they provided.

The family will have a private memorial at a later date.
