Doris Virginia Pirkle

Doris Virginia Pirkle, 82, of Plainview, TX passed from this life on September 13, 2022, in Lubbock, TX. A funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, September 17, at Krestridge Funeral Home, 505 Austin St., Levelland, TX 79336, with Pastor Brent Scoggins officiating. Interment will follow at Morton Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 16, also at Krestridge Funeral Home.

Doris Virginia Pirkle was born August 25, 1940, to Goldman and Roxie Stroud.

She married Ernest (Ernie) Trull on February 27,1959 in Spade, TX. She was a homemaker and spent many of her days helping Ernie manage the farming duties while taking care of their 4 children and 7 grandchildren. He preceded her in death on October 25, 1996.

On April 17, 1999 she married Richard Pirkle. They spent many of these last years traveling in a camper and enjoying their blended family, including the addition of many more grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved the time spent watching them all play and listening to the fun and laughter fill the room.

Doris loved her family, cooking and quilting and above all, she loved the Lord.  She will be greatly missed, but we know she is rejoicing in Heaven free from all pain.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest Trull; son, Perry Trull; and sister, Bonnie Belliveau.

Doris is survived by husband, Richard Pirkle; a son, Russell (Melissa) Trull; daughters, Gayla Zuber and Marla (Tommy) Bush; stepson, Kelley (Terri) Pirkle; stepdaughter, Tana (Ricky) Morton; brothers, Arvin Stroud, Glynn Stroud and Gene Stroud; sisters, Lillian Pollard, Sandra Dickey and Carolyn Kirby; along with 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of many loving friends and neighbors who will miss her dearly.
