Eric's journey was marked by a profound dedication to service and a love of the outdoors. After graduating from high school, he attended Texas Tech University for a year before answering the call to serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps. In June 1979, Eric married Nancy Wilson in California, beginning a partnership that would be a significant part of his life story. In his retirement years, Eric embraced new surroundings, living in Wyoming for a decade before returning to Levelland in 2007, where he continued to indulge his passion for hunting and the outdoors. He was also an active and devoted member of the Austin St. Church of Christ.
Eric was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Wilson Taylor; his son, James Ericson Taylor; his parents, Horace and Katherine Taylor; and his brother, Andy Taylor.
