Ernest Kristinek Jr.

Ernest Frank Kristinek Jr., of Whitharral, Texas joined our heavenly Father and Stanley (Ernest & Fredda's youngest son) on June 14, 2018. He was a long-time farmer, made a huge contribution to the Whitharral community and offered a helping hand to anyone who needed assistance. He was an avid cook, fisherman and hunter.

He served on many boards: Whitharral School Board, Lion's Club, Hockley County Farm Bureau, Appraisal Board, Young Farmers, SPJST, RVOS and Hockley County Bass Club. He cooked for every occasion and soon became known as ''Chili Charlie''. Ernest NEVER met a stranger and mentored many young minds of the Whitharral Community and surrounding areas.

Ernest Frank Kristinek Jr. was born September 30, 1936 in Littlefield, TX, to Ernest Kristinek Sr. and Angeline Pavlica Kristinek. He married Fredda Lee French, in Lubbock, on November 1, 1958. He attended and graduated from Lubbock High in 1955. In high school, he was a member of the choir and sang with well-known musician Buddy Holly. Ernest moved to Whitharral in 1961, where he continued to farm and raise his children. He is preceded in death by his son, Stanley Kristinek and his Mom and Dad of Lubbock. Ernest is survived by his wife Fredda French Kristinek; his brother, Jerome Kristinek and wife Cyndy of Lubbock; his son, Walter Kristinek and wife Carla of Whitharral; his daughter Janet Kristinek Betts and husband Darrell of Buffalo Springs Lake; three grandsons, Will Kristinek and wife Jamie of Whitharral, Josh Kristinek of Wolfforth, and Scott Kristinek and wife Kristy of Wolfforth; 4 great grandsons, Cooper, Grant, Brody and Luke; 2 great granddaughters, Rylee and Reese; many cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held from 2 pm - 4 pm on Sunday, June 17th, at Krestridge Funeral Home in Levelland.

Funeral services will be at 10 am on Monday, June 18th, at Whitharral Baptist Church.

Following the service, interment will be in Whitharral Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Whitharral Baptist Church or the Whitharral Cemetery Fund.
