Frances E. Perez

Frances E. Perez, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 77. Born on December 3, 1947, in Morton, Texas, to Roman and Guadalupe Escalante, Frances lived a life defined by love, kindness, and deep devotion to her family and community.

Frances retired from a long and fulfilling career in education, where she touched the lives of many with her warmth and compassion. Her generous spirit, quick smile, and loving heart left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

She found joy in the simple things—cheering on her favorite football teams, playing bingo, and most of all, spending time surrounded by the people she loved. Her home was always open, her table always full, and her heart always giving.

Frances is survived by her children: Fernando Enríquez Jr., Michelle Ruiz (Freddy Ruiz), Jessica Enríquez, Jesse Perez (Eva Perez), and Christopher Perez (Joanna Perez); her brothers: Demetrio Escalante and Johnny Escalante (Isabel Escalante); and her 15 cherished grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Nestor Perez Sr., her son Nestor Perez Jr., and her brothers Heron Escalante, Robert Escalante, and Genaro Escalante.

A viewing will be held at Krestridge Funeral Home on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with a Rosary at 5:00 PM. A funeral mass will take place on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Michael’s Church.

Frances will be remembered for her kind heart, generous soul, and unwavering love for her family. Her memory will live on in the lives of those she touched.
