Gilbert Boggs

Gilbert Harold Boggs, 62, of Levelland passed from this life Monday, November 6, 2017.

Gilbert was born on December 18, 1954 in Denton, TX to William and Vila (Barnes) Boggs.

He married Sandra Buchanan on October 28, 1999 in Levelland, TX.

Gilbert graduated from Levelland High School and received his associates degree in Applied Science from South Plains College. He worked as a machinist for various oilfield service companies prior to owning and operating Gilbert's Machine Works from 1998 to 2015.

Gilbert's passion was restoring classic cars. He approximately restored as many as 10 cars during his lifetime. His most recent restoration in progress was on a 1965 Ford Falcon nick named Sweetie Pi.

Gilbert worked hard and played hard. He was a very talented machinist and loved to educate and train others on his profession. He was also an elaborate storyteller and enjoyed making people laugh. His stories were always very entertaining. The real joy his wife and kids received were delivered via text messages from trying to decipher his texts. His words were spelled phonetically and sometimes the spell check changed what he was trying to say. This caused some confusion but it was always funny and entertaining to the receiver.

Gilbert loved his family and friends. He let them know how much every chance he got.

He was proceeded in by death his parents.

Gilbert is survived by his wife Sandra Boggs of Levelland; two sons Greg Boggs and wife Deanne of Magnolia, TX, Alan Boggs of Lubbock, TX; a daughter, Audra Nunn and husband Jeff of Levelland; four brothers: Bobby Boggs of Possum Kingdom, Billy Boggs and wife Carolyn of Weatherford, TX, Dan Boggs and wife Jan of Levelland, TX, Joe Boggs and wife Tracie of Levelland, TX; four granddaughters; Elizabeth Boggs, Kara Yarbrough, Mackenzie Nunn, Chloe Nunn, and several nieces and nephews.
