Ida went to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 28, 2019. Ida was born on October 22, 1933, to William Lee McAnear and Carrie Elizabeth Key McAnear in Post Oak, Texas. She attended Levelland High School. She and Paul Truett Howell were married on November 9, 1951, in a double ceremony with Paul's cousin Bob and Doris Mulloy. Paul and Ida had four children-Shelby, Kirby, Doug and Reneé

Ida was a Real Estate Broker in the Levelland area for 30 years, and prior to that she was a beautician. She loved going to garage sales and finding a bargain. She enjoyed visiting and debating with friends and getting back massages from her grandkids! She was strong willed, opinionated, and could articulate her position on any given topic. She was steadfast in her opinions--especially when it came to the Word of God. Her greatest desire was for her family and friends to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Ida was a Believer and a member of First Baptist Church of Levelland for over 50 years. Ida had a very strong faith and relied on her Savior continually.

Ida was living in Whisperwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Lubbock, Texas, at time of death. Even though Ida suffered with dementia for the last few years, she still loved singing hymns and visiting with everyone.

Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Truett in August ,1995, her daughter, Reneé Manning, in January, 2007, and her son, Kirby Howell, in October, 2016. Ida was also preceded in death by two older brothers, Ed McAnear and Cecil McAnear. She is survived by two sons, Shelby Howell and wife, Betsy, of Canyon Lake, Texas, and Doug and wife, Molly, of Lubbock, Texas. Other survivors include a brother, Donald Ray McAnear of Rowlett, Texas, nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
