Jerry Dean Boudreaux, of Levelland, Texas, departed this world peacefully on August 7, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on July 29, 1937, in Electra, Texas, Jerry was a beloved member of his community and a dedicated family man. He moved to Levelland in 1945 and graduated from Levelland High School in 1955. Shortly thereafter, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1955 to 1958, achieving the rank of Sergeant.
Following his military service, Jerry pursued a career in the funeral industry, graduating from the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science in 1960. For over 60 years, he served as a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, providing compassionate care to countless families during their time of need. In addition to his service in the funeral industry, he was elected as Justice of the Peace, a position he held from 2001 to 2013.
On July 30, 1960, Jerry married his beloved wife, Mary Beth Wilkinson, in Dallas, Texas. Together, they raised two children: daughter Kim Bast, and son Jay Boudreaux. Jerry was a proud grandfather to three grandchildren: Zachary Boudreaux, Aubree Bast, and Jonathan Bast.
Jerry's lifelong commitment to community service was demonstrated through his involvement in numerous organizations. He served as a First Aid Instructor for the Red Cross, was an active member of the Levelland Jaycees, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, and Lions Club for over 50 years. He also co-founded and held the position of Secretary of the Hockley County Blood Bank, served as President of the Panhandle Funeral Directors Association and on the Executive Board of Texas Funeral Directors Association, and was a member of various boards, including the South Plains Association of Governments and the Levelland Zoning Board.
A devoted member of the Austin Street Church of Christ since 1962, Jerry served as both Deacon and Elder, demonstrating steadfast faith and dedication to his church community. In his later years, you could find him enjoying early morning coffee and good company at McDonald's with his buddies in the "8:00 am Shift Club."
Jerry will be deeply missed and remembered for his kindness, generosity, and commitment to helping others. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Boudreaux; his daughter, Kimberly Bast and son-in-law, David Bast; his son, Jay Boudreaux; daughter-in-law, Lesley Boudreaux; his grandchildren, Zachary Boudreaux, Aubree Bast, and Jonathon Bast; his sisters, Patsy Prothro and Laverne Shaw; and his sister-in-law, Leavelle Boudreaux.
Funeral services to celebrate Jerry's remarkable life will be held on August 9, 2025 at 2:00pm at the Austin Street Church of Christ in Levelland, Texas. Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of remembrance and reflection. Interment will follow at Pearl Cemetery in Pearl, TX on August 10, 2025 at 3:00pm where he will be laid to rest with military honors.

Jerry's legacy of service and love will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Jerry was preceded in death by parents, John Boudreaux and Mildred Boudreaux; brothers, Bob Boudreaux and Eugene Weathers and sister, Elaine Hobgood.
