Jimmie Putman

Jimmie W. Putman, 78, of Sundown passed away while on an adventure on October 22, 2019 in Jackson, Tennessee. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on Sunday, October 27, 2019, at Krestridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 28, 2019, in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Sundown Cemetery.

He was born November 20, 1940 in Abilene to parents Robert and Vera (Carroll) Putman. Jimmie joined the Army National Guard in 1960.

In 1969 he was transferred to work in Algeria, Africa while his family lived in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, returning to the states in 1970. Jimmie started his own backhoe service after many years of working in the oilfields.

Jimmie became an ordained minister through his church. In November, 1978 he graduated flight school and received his private pilot license. Jimmie joined the Sons of Confederate Veterans and Military Order of Stars and Bars.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Judy and son, Dennis.

Jimmie is survived by sons, James and wife Jerri of Lubbock, and Jackie and wife Tina of Arlington; 4 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a wonderful husband, father, and friend who will be greatly missed.
