Joan Lemaire

Joan Anna Lemaire, 86, of Sundown, Texas passed from this life Sunday, November 14, 2021.

Visitation will be Friday, November 19, 2021 from 6-8 PM at Krestridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel in Levelland, Texas. Burial will follow in Sundown Cemetery.

Joan was born November 16, 1934, in Queens, New York, to Fred and Sarah (Trerice) Forster.

Joan married the love of her life, Herbert Lemaire, June 27, 1953. Together they raised 7 children on Long Island, New York. She moved to Sundown, Texas to be near her family.

She enjoyed playing Bingo, doing cross stitch and playing cards with her children and grandchildren. She had a love of music, that included her favorite artists, Elvis, Bon Jovi, Bruno Mars and Usher. She also Loved Patrick Mahomes and watching him play while at Texas Tech and for the KC Chiefs, she was a true “Mahomie”.

She was preceded in death by, her parents, and her husband of 45 years, Herbert Lemaire, four siblings, her son-in-law Randy Hart and  great grandson, Nolan Gebhart.

She is survived by her children; Tom Lemaire of Florida; Mitch Lemaire (Darlene) of New York; Renee Gebhart of Sundown, Texas; Marion Wallace (Doug) of Midland, Texas; Barbara Hart of Sundown, Texas; Kelly Hofmann (Dale) of New York; Robert Lemaire of New York, 24 Grandchildren and 44 Great-Grandchildren and one, great-great-granddaughter on the way. Many of her family members serve in the US Air Force.
