Joe Wisdom

Joe Edwin ''Ed'' Wisdom, 82, of Levelland passed from this life on October 25, 2019. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, October 28, 2019, at Krestridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

He was born June 9, 1937 in Levelland to parents, Weldon and Aline (Calame) Wisdom. Ed graduated from Littlefield High School. He married Linda Lou Martin on May 27, 1956.

Ed attended barber college in Amarillo and worked as a barber for many years before becoming a farmer. He also co-owned South Plains Marine.

He was a member of the Jaycees, Little Dribblers coach, board member of the Hockley County Jr. Livestock Show & Sale, honorary FFA chapter member, honorary 4-H member, Friend of 4-H and outstanding 4-H leader. Ed also received the Carload Sorghum Grain Award.

Ed enjoyed boat racing, league bowling, fishing, hunting, trapshooting and stock shows.

He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty Barker.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, Alan (Nikki) Wisdom and Andy (Heather) Wisdom; brother, Larry (Linda) Wisdom; grandchildren, Chay (Amber), Chad (Shayla), Haven, Chessa and Tristan Wisdom; and great granddaughter, Austin Rose Wisdom.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family suggests memorials be made to the Hockley County Jr. Livestock Show and Sale, P.O. Box 1474, Levelland, Texas 79336.
