Johnny Ward

Johnny Robert Ward, 75, of Levelland passed from this life on December 11, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, December 14, 2018, in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel.

He was born May 21, 1943 in Amherst, Texas to parents Virgil Dale and Hazel Irene (Satterfield) Ward. Johnny married Gracie Riney on January 16, 1962.

In his younger years he enjoyed dancing, Schlitz beer, Nascar, short track racing in Lubbock, playing his guitar and going to his parents for Sunday gatherings. Johnny loved trains, fishing, guitars, country music, Texas Tech and the Dallas Cowboys.

Johnny worked many jobs, but his most loved job was driving his module truck. He spoiled his grandkids and great grandkids. His best friend was his oldest great grandson, John. Johnny loved his family and the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Jean Crittenden and Juanita Franklin.

Johnny is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gracie; sons, Johnny Keith Ward and wife Camille, and Michael Ward; daughters, Tonya Lowe and husband Doug, and Kristie Cortez and husband Phillip; sister, Glenda Witherspoon and husband Bobby; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
