Josie C. Quintanilla, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, in Ft. Worth, Texas, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on August 27, 1946, in Van Horn, Texas, Josie exemplified a life rich in love and dedication.
Josie’s proudest accomplishments centered around her unparalleled devotion to her family. She was a steadfast nurturer who took great joy in caring for her husband's and children’s needs. Her home was always filled with love and warmth, extending to her eight children, twenty-seven grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. Josie’s affection also embraced her beloved dogs, whom she doted on with tenderness and care.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Daniel Quintanilla, and her eight children: Vicky Garza, Mary Helen Quintanilla, Daniel Quintanilla Jr., David Quintanilla, Sandy Q. Martinez, Michael Quintanilla, Patty Quintanilla, and Steven Quintanilla. Her family circle is further enriched by her siblings: brothers Tony Corrales, Lupe Corrales, Ruben Corrales, Oscar Corrales, Tino Corrales, Johnny Corrales, and Abel Corrales, as well as her sister Arminda "Minnie" Almager. Josie was predeceased by her parents, Ygnacio and Trancita Corrales, and siblings Jose Corrales and Maria Escobedo.
Josie’s enduring legacy is one of heartfelt care, unyielding commitment to family, and a gentle spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her. As her family and friends gather to honor her memory, they remember a woman whose life was defined not only by her roles but by the profound love she imparted every day. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered with respect and affection.
The celebration of Josie’s life will begin with a visitation and rosary on April 16, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Krestridge Funeral Home, located at 505 Austin Street, Levelland, Texas. The rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. Services will continue with a funeral mass on April 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 316 East Washington Street, Levelland, Texas.
