Joyce Powers Barker

Joyce Powers Barker, 93, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 8, 2023.  She lived in Jacksonville, Florida with her grandchildren, but was a long-time resident of Levelland, Texas.   Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the City of Levelland Cemetery.

She was born May 22, 1930 in Clovis, New Mexico to Baylor and Birdie Jenkins.  Joyce was a member of Good News Baptist Church in Jacksonville, and a prior member of Second Baptist Church in Levelland.  Her career was in sales which she enjoyed until retirement.

Joyce was a devout Christian who loved the Lord.  She will be missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her spouses, Robert Powers and Bill Barker; son, John Murr; and daughter, Peggy Sue Smith.

Joyce is survived by her son, Kelly Barker and wife Claudia of Bastrop, Texas; daughter, Darla Moran of Cumming, Georgia; grandchildren, Pamela Young, Zac Pointer, Aaron Barker, Joel Barker, Anne Marley, Jozie Johnson, Christine Cole and Peter Murr; great grandchildren, Ashley Parise, Christian Young, Tyler Young, Chance Pointer, Eryn Pointer, Aubree Pointer, Esme Barker, Miles Barker, May Marley, Fiona and Finnigan Johnson; and great-great grandchild, Jonas Parise.
