Joyce Schoggins

Services for Joyce Ann (Ivey) Schoggins, age 90, will be Saturday, February 16, 2019, 3:00 PM at Second Baptist Church in Levelland. Joyce passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 in Amarillo.

Joyce was born on December 21, 1928 in Paducah, Texas to Edgar and Virginia Ruth ‘Jennie' Ivey. She was reared at Pettit Community Church and School. She attended Texas Tech University, South Plains College and New Mexico Junior College. She married Jack O. Schoggins in 1946. Joyce worked for Levelland General Co.; Pettit Coop Cotton Gin; Thompson Motor Co. (Walsh, CO); I & W Transportation (Lovington, NM); and after retirement, moved back to Levelland and worked for South Plains College from 1996 through 2012. She was active in the church and a member of Second Baptist Church in Levelland since 1995.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Jack O. Schoggins; her parents; six brothers, Cleon Ivey, Talmage Ivey, Percy Ivey, T.J. Ivey, Bervel Ivey and Joe Ivey.

Left to cherish her memories include one son, Bobby Schoggins, his wife Trisha of Levelland, their son, Sky Schoggins, and their daughter, Mya Grant; one daughter, La Tayne Rothman and her husband Darrell of Amarillo, their son Chase Rothman, and their daughter, Ivey Mitchell; one brother, Willie Jack Ivey; one sister-in-law, Betty Ivey; her great-grandchildren, Abbie and Max Grant, Fiona and Aidan Schoggins, Athena Faye Rothman, Kasen Fitts, and Dakota Mitchell; and a great-great grandchild, Hazel Reign Rodriguez.

A visitation will be held at Krestridge Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, February 15, 2019.
