Mackie Washington, Sr.

Mackie Lee Washington, 64, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 in Levelland.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Wednesday April 28, 2021 at Krestridge Funeral Home with burial to follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mackie was born on April 11, 1957 to McClinton Washington and Audrey Calhoun in Olton, Texas.  He was the oldest living son in his family and attended Carver and Levelland schools.  Mackie attended and was baptized at the Northside Church of Christ, where he served the church doing various jobs along with his entire family.  Mackie will be remembered by many as the extra helping hand.  He was raised as a farmer and also became a certified welder and a city-wide master mechanic.  He loved popping his fingers and good conversations.  He also loved fried porkchops, Churches Chicken and corn on the cob.  Mackie loved just doing anything.  His blessing came from helping others, working on vehicles, mowing yards and putting up Christmas lights.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, a sister and a brother.

Mackie is survived by his son, Mackie Washington Jr. and wife, Jessica; his bonus son, Michael Jefferson and wife, Rhonda, sisters; Ella Mae Nathaniel of San Antonio, Texas, Martha Ann Washington of Killeen Texas, brothers; Joe Lee Washington and wife, Beverly of Longview, Texas, Bobby Ray Washington and wife, Christina of Levelland, Texas, and Walter Cronkite Washington and wife, Maria Elena of Lubbock Texas; uncle, Willy Ray Calhoun and wife, Pamela of Whitney, Texas.  He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, numerous plus bonus grandchildren and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
