Maria Marguerita Garcia

Maria Margarita Garcia, 66, of Sundown, Texas passed from this life Sunday, March 6, 2022.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday March 10, 2022 at Krestridge Funeral Home with the Recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 PM.

Funeral services will be 2:00PM Friday, March 11, 2022, at Saint Michael's Catholic Church with Father Jonathan Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Sundown Cemetery.

Maria was born January 30, 1956 in Burnet, Texas to Pedro and Frances (Cervantez) Serna. Maria grew up in Texas. As she got older, she moved to Florida, where she had her sons and loved so much. She worked so hard to provide and made ends meet every single time. Maria would then move back to Texas where she welcomed her only daughter who made her world complete. She was so excited to finally have a little girl that she loved so much. Maria was the true definition of being independent and overcoming anything in life. She devoted her life to her family and always made sure to make them her number one priority. Maria will always be remembered as a true hearted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to so many. She was always there to lend a helping hand when times were hard or if you just needed a hug. She was the rock of the family. It’s just who she was, and she was the best at it. Maria was a fighter, kind hearted and was the most loving. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Frances Serna

 Maria is survived by her husband, Salvador Garcia; sons, Bucky (Liz) Bocanegra, Juan (Apolonia) Bocanegra, Jose (Roxanne) Bocanegra, Pedro (Alicia) Bocanegra and Rigoverto (Amy) Medina III; daughter, Jessica Garcia; brother, Pete (Margaret) Serna; sisters, Janie (Albino) Garcia, Estella (Toroline) Garcia, Alice (Mario) Reyna and Rosie (Robert) Buentello; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
