Marilyn Ruth Neal, 74, of Morton passed from this life on July 30, 2022.  Memorial services will be held at 2:30 pm on August 12, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Morton with Dennis Neal and Rush Coffman officiating.  There will be a visitation immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall of the church.  Interment will be at a later date in Bokchito, Oklahoma.

She was born July 18, 1948 in Blair, Oklahoma to Ed and Wanda Slack.  Marilyn retired from Texas A&M AgriLife Extension where she spent 10 years of her career as an extension agent in Castro County. She dedicated her life to serving others and giving back to her community.

After retirement, Marilyn and Dan moved to Idaho where she had a catering business and volunteered countless hours to the VFW serving as President of the VFW Auxiliary for the Department of Idaho.  She took it a step further in the VFW by becoming the Auxilliary President of the VFW Western Conference.  Marilyn had a great love for people and wanting success for everyone.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ed Slack; mother, Wanda Slack; and granddaughter, Callie Jean.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Dan Neal; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Chris DeFrancisco; son and daughter-in-law, John and Christina Neal; grandchildren, Mary DeFrancisco, Anna DeFrancisco, Kay Hardin and Briana Seigler; and great grandchildren, Roxanne Seigler and Callie Grace Trinidad.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Marilyn’s memory to the Cochran County Senior Citizens Center, 120 W. Wilson, Morton, Texas 79346.
