Mary Franklin

Mary Elizabeth Franklin, 62, of Levelland passed from this life on June 29, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery.

She was born September 17, 1955 to parents, Elder Leroy Franklin, Jr. and Lillian Majors Franklin in Levelland, Texas. Mary graduated from Levelland High School and went on to nursing school where she received her degree as an LVN. Mary was employed for 20 years at Cook Memorial Hospital, now Covenant Hospital, until she fell ill. She was a member of Holy Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Bertis McDaniel until he passed away. She was now under the leadership of Pastor Ben Alexander. She attended church services until her illness would no longer allow her to do so.

Mary was preceded in death by her father, Elder Leroy Franklin, Jr.; and brother, Jimmy Ray Franklin.

She is survived by her mother, Lillian Franklin; son, Shawn Franklin; daughters, Tanisha Franklin and Laquita Jones; brothers, Elder Leroy III (Ann) Franklin of Midland, Texas, Robert Earl (Susan) Franklin of Levelland, Texas, William Lee (Julie) Franklin of Colorado Springs, CO., and Ronnie Lee (Carolyn) Franklin of Richardson, Texas; five grandsons, Bryson Franklin, Tyreese Franklin, Jyreese Franklin, Armond Jackson, and Branson Jackson; one granddaughter, Taylor Elizabeth Franklin; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
