Mary Jon Norman, 93, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on December 27, 2025, at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock.
Mary Jon was born on January 25, 1932, in Winters, Texas, to Elton G. Cooke and Ora Lee Cooke. She grew up in Levelland, Texas, where she developed strong family values and a love for community that followed her throughout her life.
She married A. B. Norman,Jr., and together they shared many years and raised their family. Though their lives later took different paths, Mary Jon and A. B. remained deeply connected and continued to care for and support one another throughout the years, maintaining a meaningful and enduring bond.
Mary Jon was a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished time spent with family. She spent much of her working life at the 50 Yard Line Restaurant in Lubbock, where she was a beloved hostess for over 30 years. Mary Jon cherished her time there and the friendships she made, greeting everyone with warmth, kindness, and a genuine smile that left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elton G. Cooke and Ora Lee Cooke.
Mary Jon is survived by her sister, Sue Stacy (Bomar) of Allen, Texas; daughter, Delinda Greene (Ronnie) of Fort Worth, Texas; son, Terry Norman (Sylvia) of Marfa, Texas; grandchildren, Shane Greene (Nancy) of Mansfield, Texas, Sharmai Gryder (Jeremy) of Austin, Texas, Jennifer Paxton (David) of Kruegerville, Texas; great-grandchildren, Riley Greene, Cooper Greene, Kennedi Rucker, Addison Rucker, Jace Gryder, Jaxon Gryder, Hannah Paxton, Madelyn Paxton, and Coulson Paxton.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 17,2026 in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery.
