Phillip Stanley Coley, 71, of Levelland Texas passed away in Lubbock Texas on Friday, February 10, 2017. A family visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at Krestridge Funeral Home in Levelland. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at First United Methodist Church in Paducah, with burial to follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Paducah, Texas.

Phil was born July 25, 1945 in St. Louis, Mo. to parents Stanley Floyd and Martha Zane (Waggoner) Coley. He graduated from Kirkwood High School in St. Louis in 1963 and attended the University of Missouri. In 1966, Phil joined the United States Air Force as an Aero Medical Technician. He attended USAF Physician Assistant School from 1972-1974 and received a B.S. in P.A. Studies from the University of Nebraska. Phil separated from the USAF in 1979 as a Senior Master Sergeant. He worked as a Physician Assistant in Texas, Arkansas, and Wyoming.

Phil married Velda Ruth (Isbell) Coley on November 12, 1982 in Paducah, Texas. They moved to Levelland, Texas in 1997 where he worked as a Physician Assistant at Levelland Clinic until his retirement in 2008. Phil loved to hunt, coach, being a P.A., and most of all being a Dad and Papa to his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; aunts, Sara Waggoner Yarnell, Mae Coley-Wren; uncle, J. Virgil Waggoner; niece, Patricia Coley; parents-in-law, Jack and Dorothy Isbell; brother-in-law, Tommy Isbell; and sister-in-law Peggy Montgomery.

Phil is survived by his wife, Velda Coley; children, Laura Coley-McQuartters, Clint (Lachella) Coley, Cassie Coley (Demetrio) Conde, Sara Coley (Derek Moreland), Roy (Jenai) Blount, Cody (Julia) Blount, Thomas (Rusti) Blount, and Crystal Blount (Erik) Alberts; 21 grandchildren, Tre', Mack, Tyler, Hunter, Sage, Cooper, Brayden, Cole, Tanner, Dalton, Abigail, Wyatt, Danika, Ella, Layton, Rylie, Hayes, Devin, Truett, Jacob, and Reese; , Great- Granddaughters Henley and Braylee; brothers, Doug Coley and Patrick (Deborah) Coley. Phil and his cousin Carmen were lifelong friends.

Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of the professionals of Krestridge Funeral home, Levelland, Texas.
