He was an avid storyteller. In 2018, he published a book “The Way it Was”; a collection of personal stories throughout multiple decades of his life, including becoming a Christian as a young adult, as a result of seeing the profound change in Deanna after she became a Christian.
After becoming a Christian, Prentiss shared the gospel at every chance he was provided, influencing untold numbers of others in a positive fashion.
He brought quick wit and a sense of humor to almost every situation.
Prentiss is survived by his wife, Wilma Rhyne; his children from his first marriage to Deanna Rhyne: Kent Rhyne and wife Marilyn Rhyne of Kerrville, Texas, Bruce Rhyne, of Levelland, and John Rhyne, of Lubbock; and his grandchildren, Craig Rhyne and wife Kate Rhyne of Kerrville, and Kathryn Rhyne and husband Matthew Dalton of New York, New York.
