Raymond Durham

Raymond Arnold Durham, affectionately known as ''Red'', passed away on June 12, 2017 at the age of 85 years in Levelland, Texas at Lynwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Home. He moved to Lynwood on the 1st of March, 2017.

Red was born on February 29, 1932 in Brownfield, Texas to O.B. and Minnie Lee Durham, and later attended school in Olton, Texas. On January 6, 1951, he married Uelala Truelock where together in Olton they raised a family of four children. Red enjoyed hard work, and more hard work, but during his rare off-times, he liked to go camping and play dominos. His three greatest loves were family, friends, and farming. Red farmed in the Olton area and operated a dairy at Springlake, Texas. After retiring from farming and the dairy, he and his wife Uelala operated a Dog Kennel in Littlefield, Texas where they raised and groomed dogs. Raymond was a member of Parkview Baptist Church of Littlefield.

Raymond is survived by his four children, Gary and wife Emma of Lubbock, Grady and wife Jane of Belton, Marilyn Koelder and husband Gary of Plainview, and Carolyn Doshier and husband Kerry of Levelland; seven grandchildren, Sheila and husband John Jernigan, Gerald Ray Durham, Troyce Raleigh Durham, Kash Koelder, Kelby Koelder, Katelyn Franklin and husband Brandon, and Kordell Doshier; four great granddaughters, Marlee Jernigan, Faith Jernigan, Shiloh Ottmers and Kraylee Franklin; one great great granddaughter, Makenzie Ottmers; two sisters, Wilma Fulton and husband Tommy, and Cleo Ignacia and husband Marney; sister-in-law, Betty Durham; several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two grandsons, Tanner Doshier and Paul Vaughn, and two brothers, John Lee Durham and Lloyd Moore.

Graveside services will be at 10 AM Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Olton Cemetery, Olton, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Olton Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 1065, Olton, Texas 79064, or your favorite charity.
