Rebecca Jean Battin, 61, of Levelland passed away from this life June 17, 2025. A celebration of her life will be held at Faith Church in Lubbock, Texas, at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 23,2025.
Rebecca was born on May 9, 1964, to Charles and Camellia Battin in Lubbock, Texas. She grew up in Levelland and graduated from Levelland High School. She attended Point Loma University in San Diego, California, and later graduated from South Plains College with her nursing degree. During this time she married Danny Engledow and had three children: Zach, Jessica, and Joe. Throughout her time in nursing, she worked in Labor and Delivery at UMC, for Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, Covenant, and also in Home Health. In between, she did nails and developed numerous friendships that she carried until her passing. Eventually, she opened businesses in Post and Levelland.
Rebecca was a talented entrepreneur who had knack for designing and decorating. Her laughter was infectious and she quickly made everyone feel like a longtime friend. She had nine grandchildren in Texas, California, and Florida. Rebecca spent the last few years reconnecting with old friends and making new friends at the softball fields.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Charles and Camellia, and her brother Mike.
Rebecca is survived by her children: Zach Engledow and wife Tammie of Hemet, California; Jessica Tucker and husband Jacob of Levelland, Texas; Joe Engledow and wife Bethany of Palm Harbor, Florida. Her brother Kyle Battin and wife Michelle of Lubbock, Texas. Her nine grandchildren: Caydence (13), Lilly (11), LJ (10), Charlie Pearl (8), Jackson (7), Hope (7), Zechariah (3), Sadie June (3), and Ezekiel (1).
