Rodney Carl Rogers

Rodney Rogers went to be with the Lord on May 22, 2022 at the age of 81.  He was born November 19, 1940 in Levelland in the home of BJ (Berkley John) and Lou Wayne Rogers.  He was married to Katherine Nevill for 57 years.  They resided in Portales, NM for over 20 years before returning to Levelland.

Rodney was involved in the cattle business as well as a real estate broker for many years.  He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He served as a deacon for many years at both Emmanuel Baptist Church in Portales, NM and Second Baptist Church in Levelland. 

Rodney was an avid fisherman and loved spending time with family and friends.  His grandchildren were his greatest joy and he loved spending time and cheering them on in their activities.

Rodney could always be counted on to help those around him.  He enjoyed staying busy and frequently hosted gatherings for his group of senior friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine; parents, BJ and Lou Wayne Rogers; and sister, Johnnie Rogers.

Rodney is survived by his sister, Linda Berry of Ruidoso, NM; children, Randy (Tammie) Rogers of Tuttle, OK, Donna (Stuart) Henderson of Katy, TX and Terry Rogers of Lubbock, TX; grandchildren, Lacey (Dack) Howard of Boulder, CO, Travis Rogers of Tuttle, OK, John (Caitlyn) Henderson of Fort Collins, CO and Brit (Angela) Henderson of San Antonio, TX; and two great granddaughters.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Krestridge Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Second Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Baptist Children’s Home in Portales, NM or Second Baptist Church.
