Sam Goodnight

Samuel Hal Goodnight passed away on September 5, 2026, in Levelland, TX.

Sam Goodnight was born on September 5, 1942, in Memphis, TX where he grew up and spent his childhood.

At the center of Sam’s life was his family. He is survived by his wife, Sue Goodnight, with whom he shared his life and family. He is also survived by his son Kevin Goodnight, Kevin’s wife Amy, and their son Grant. He is likewise survived by his son Kyle Goodnight, Kyle’s wife Ellen, and their children, Nolan and Blake. Sam is also survived by his sister, Linda Kay.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Hal and Ruby, and by his sisters Pat, Jan, Anna-Margaret, and Carolyn.

Sam was an avid golfer and was a lover of animals. He always wanted to help others and was known to drive around in his later years and hand out cash to those in need. Those who loved Sam will remember him as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son whose life was deeply rooted in family. His memory will remain a lasting blessing to all who shared in his life.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Krestridge Funeral Home, 505 Austin Street, Levelland, Texas 79336. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 1011 Houston St, Levelland, Texas 79336. Burial to follow at the City of Levelland Cemetery.
