Truett Murphey

George Truett Seth Murphey of Levelland, Texas, passed away on March 17, 2018. Turett was born November 14, 1954 in Mobile, Alabama. He was the second of four children born to Dr. Seth Murphey and Mrs. Marjorie Murphey. His younger brother, Carey Mark Murphey (Maria), and their parents have preceded him in death. Truett lived the majority of his life in Levelland where he was a Golden Glove boxer, greatly enjoying the sport during his junior high and high school years. Truett was later an Emergency Med Tech, and worked as a roughneck, tool pusher, and in various other aspects of the oil business. He was later a rancher.

Truett is survived by two sisters, Dr. Melody Bellinghausen (David), and Joy Armstrong (Mike); one niece, Jordan Pipkin (Joel); five nephews, Canaan Bellinghausen (Lauren), Shiloh Bellinghausen, Michael Armstrong, Sam Armstrong, and Zack Armstrong; and one grandniece, Aria Rose Bellinghausen.

Truett was laid to rest by family members in a private graveside service on March 20, 2018.
