William Shakespeare

William Clarence ''Shakey'' Shakespeare, 85, of Levelland passed from this life on March 1, 2018 in Levelland. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Krestridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 5, 2018, at College Avenue Baptist Church. Private interment for family only.

William was born in Alamosa, Colorado on April 20, 1932 to Clarence and Irene (Scott) Shakespeare. He was a graduate of St. John Military School in Salina, Kansas in 1950. He then entered the U.S. Navy in 1951 and served our country for 4 years where he was stationed in Corpus Christi at the Naval Air Base and served aboard the USS Hancock.

He married Catherine Schultz in 1953.

William entered electric trade school after the Navy and worked as an electrician, receiving his masters in 1970. He owned and operated Shakespeare Electric in Levelland until retirement.

He loved Levelland and was always involved in the construction around town. No one loved his stories as much as he did! He laughed at himself and laughed with anyone and everyone. He never met a stranger as he talked to anyone about anything and everything. He genuinely loved people. William adored his grandkids, great grandkids, as well as the adopted Parkinson family. He was a long time member of College Avenue Baptist Church.

William was preceded in death by his parents, brother Charles Shakespeare, and sister Elaine Buttle.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Catherine Shakespeare; daughters, Margaret Shakespeare, and Teresa Hensley and son-in-law R.E. Hensley; grandchildren, Alysha and Toby Reep, Jeremy and Kelera Hensley; great grandchildren, Jaxson Reep, Phoenyx and Maverik Hensley; and niece, Martha Laye.
