William Winn

William E. ''Gene'' Winn, 83, of Levelland passed from this life on July 18, 2019. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at Krestridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 25, 2019, in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel.

He was born May 16, 1936 in El Cajon, California to parents, Opal and Coy Winn. Gene moved to Levelland in 1952 with family at the age of sixteen and wondered why it took so long to get here. Levelland and West Texas was called home until his death aside from his service in the U.S. Navy. Upon his return from military service, Gene became involved in the cotton industry and remained active up to his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, George Ray Winn and Wayne Dalton Winn.

Gene is survived by his wife, Sammie June Winn; son, William Eugene Winn, Jr.; daughter, Carolyn Dianne Scott; grandsons, William Christopher Scott and William A. Winn; granddaughters, Sierra Jaye Scott and Sydney Winn; great grandsons, William Christopher Scott, Jr. and Augustus Raymond Scott; nephews, Coy Winn and Johnny Brian Dalton Winn; nieces, Tracy Schultz and Alisha Ann Griffiths; and cousins, Sue Dell Dotinga and Ricky Brasher.
