Cole Ellison Jeffcoat

July 30, 1991 ~ February 24, 2020 (age 28)

Ethan Cole Ellison Jeffcoat, 28, of Lubbock, Texas passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 24, 2020 in his home.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, February 28, 2020 at Krestridge Funeral Home, 505 Austin Street in Levelland, Texas.  Celebration of Cole’s life will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Bible Baptist Church, 525 West Panhandle Street, in Slaton, Texas.  Rev. Chris Downer and Rev. Rory Mosley will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Meadow Cemetery in Meadow, Texas.

Cole was born on July 30, 1991 in Levelland, Texas.  He was planning to be married on May 2, 2020 to the love of his life, his person, Caitlyn Bush.  Cole was working as a tradesman for Hank Daniel Construction.

Cole loved the game of baseball beginning as a t-ball player and playing all throughout high school.  He continued this passion for the game playing league baseball and softball with friends and colleagues in Levelland and Lubbock until the time of his death.  Because Cole had such a love for the game that he wanted to share, he and his dad began coaching his youngest brother’s t-ball team.  He also mentored several Little League kids over the years.  He took great pride in a kid’s progression in the game and loved the smiles on their faces when they got their first hit or caught their first pop fly.

Cole also enjoyed playing golf with his mom, his dad or anyone he could convince to meet him for a tee time.  He was known to call up his brothers, his friends, or even make his fiancé (who had never played golf) just to get a game in.  Over the years, Cole lost countless balls and replaced a number of clubs that he broke, but still could not get enough of the game.

Cole also had a passion for cooking that he shared with his mom and fiancé.  He loved to challenge himself to try new recipes or he even made them up as he went.

Cole passionately loved his friends and family, and anyone who met him was easily drawn to him.  Whether it was a smile, a joke, a laugh, or a challenge, most could not resist calling him friend after meeting him.  Cole shared a unique and lifelong friendship with Nick Stephens who he became friends with at age 3 and continued a strong friendship with until his death.  Cole’s other “special person” was his cousin, Payton Potts, who worshipped him, confided in him, challenged him, loved him fiercely, and will miss him deeply.

Cole was preceded in death by his beloved Papa Jack Ellison of Levelland.

Cole is survived by his fiancé, Caitlyn Bush, of Lubbock; his dad, Brian Jeffcoat, and other mom, Stephanie of Slaton; his mom, Margret Ann Jeffcoat of Levelland; his brothers, Logan Jeffcoat of Levelland and Kaden Jeffcoat of Slaton; grandparents Joe and Donna Jeffcoat of Ropesville, Catherine Ellison of Levelland, and Freddie and Martha Turney of Slaton; numerous special uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
