Obituary

When heaven’s gates opened to Glynn Raymon Price 76, of Levelland, they opened to one of the greatest men that ever lived.  He died Tuesday December 15 in San Antonio, Texas. Graveside services will be held Monday, December 21 at 1100 a.m. at the Levelland City Cemetery under the direction of Krestridge Funeral Home.  The family will receive visitors at Krestridge on Sunday December 20 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and ask that proper Covid precautions are taken.

Glynn was born April 11, 1944 in Littlefield, Texas to Clyde and Frances (Johnson) Price. He graduated from Bula High School in 1962 and always enjoyed going to the community reunions.  He is a US Army Veteran and was proud of his service. Glynn loved the land, loved his family and loved to have a good time.  He had a quiet integrity that drove everything he did to excellence.  Whether he was farming, meeting the guys for coffee or cards, doting on his grandchildren or traveling with friends and family, his presence was always larger than life.  He was a cotton farmer in Cochran County and served on both the Maple Cooperative Gin Board and with the Plains Cotton Cooperative Association Delegate Body. He was a deeply loyal friend and once you were his friend, it was for life.  He was a man with many names. Whether you knew him as Tweet, Uncle Butch, Glynn, Daddy, Papa, Grandad, or Mr. Price, you too were included as a friend.

Glynn is survived by his wife of 14 years Dixie (Everitt) Mellberg Price of Levelland; his daughter Jacque Price Tieszen and her husband Rod and grandchildren Gemma, Rose and Rodney of Lubbock, his son Gary Price and grandson Landon Price of Lubbock; his granddaughter Tina Price Gregory and husband Tristan and his first great-grandchild due in March of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his sister Wanda Wheeler of Lubbock; sisters-in-law Troy Price and Shirley Everitt of Lubbock; and special aunt Jeane Campbell of Lubbock.  He is also survived by Dixie’s children Amy Mellberg McCasland and husband Casey of Lubbock; Dusty Mellberg and wife Adrian and children Brier and Baylor of Levelland; and Jody Mellberg of Levelland. He is also loved and missed by Lindsey Turney Perry and Chance Turney.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Keith Price.

The family has designated Lubbock State Supported Living Center, Community Relations c/o Sandy Anderson, 3401 N University Ave, Lubbock, TX 79415 for donations. Please mark on envelope DONATION, Glynn Price.
